Of course we had the avo on Crack ...and cakes ...and takeaway lunch croissants ...and takeaway cakes for later
This is the 3rd premises in Geelong, that I have had the pleasure to eat Faceplant food. It seems they keep outgrowing their previous cafe’s. They are now in an converted fire station and it is wonderfully done with inside/outside seating! A vast array of cakes and pastries was available (I got there early) along with a medium sized menu of thoughtful choices of mains, including day breakfast. I love eating at Faceplant whenever I am in Geelong and highly recommend it!
The location is just as fabulous as the eclectic food selection. Delicious options, but would love to see some more kid-friendly food on the menu
Finally taking the chance to leave Melbourne after the restrictions were lifted, we took a trip to Geelong and headed here for lunch. I had no idea it had changed premises and was surprised and delighted to see it had moved into the amazing new space in the old CFA building huge, bright and cool looking, with a great courtyard. The menu was the same as I remembered from last time, which was not a bad thing. We ordered the Big Brekkie Bomb $23) and the Real Big Mac $24). The brekkie was quite delicious with its charred corn, smoked tofu and feta. The burger, while beautifully and colourfully presented which I remember being a trademark of this cafe), was OK but unfortunately the portobello mushroom in it was just a little bitter, which made the dish less enjoyable than it might have been. The staff were friendly and helpful. The cabinet full of baked goods, including vegan croissants, was tempting. Despite minor issues with the menu, this place is still a class act.
