Lord Nelson Pub Kitchen - Gedling

My companions and I came for lunch and ordered the fish and chips as well as the chicken with broccoli. We absolutely loved the homemade bread and olives, they were delicious. We highly recommend trying them!

I hadn't visited this restaurant in a while because the staff had become unfriendly, but I decided to give it another chance yesterday because the food has always been excellent. I was pleasantly surprised to discover that there was new management in place. The young women running the restaurant were very welcoming to all customers and always willing to help other staff members. Despite knowing how stressful the industry can be, the staff were attentive and professional. The food was even better than I remembered, and was the perfect way to end a long week. Although I didn't get a chance to thank the staff, I did compliment the chef, who smiled in response. Overall, I felt welcomed and delighted with the atmosphere, service, and food. I am happy to know that I can return to this restaurant regularly once again.

Turned up without a reservation on Sunday, had to wait 15 minutes (enjoyed the sunshine in the garden with a pint of Camden) but they soon got a table for us. We all had the beef alongside a recommended bottle of malbec by the young girl serving us, all was excellent, beef was nice and pink with a giant Yorkshire pudding. We shared a sticky toffee pudding and a lemon posset which were delightful and very indulgent. Whilst the pub was busy we didn't feel rushed. We will be returning soon!

1. Didn't have our reservation even though we booked through their on website. 2.poor service took over 10 minutes to get a drink 3. Chef was eating food as serving and Didn't wash his hand as I witnessed this myself 4. No one came to see if we were enjoying our meal. 5.staff you could tell they didn't want to be there ad they were chatting at the serving area they couldn't wait to finish. VERY DISAPPOINTING

We booked our table on the Pubs' own website. On arrival there was no table. Fortunately, the waitress found a table and we were quickly seated. We only ordered the main Sunday meal 1 beef 1 chicken. Where we were seated, we had a view into the kitchen were one of the cheif's was eating bits of food while serving food. Not sure if its a legal requirement, but the chief didn't wear a beard net at any time. Food was ok but the overall experience was poor
