We celebrated our 20th anniversary at this restaurant, and they truly exceeded our expectations! We opted for Chef Trevor's tasting menu, and every dish was exceptional. From the homemade focaccia with sesame oil to the stone fruit and tomato salad, the scallop sashimi, crab and shrimp cakes with red cabbage, and finally the salmon belly and Madeleine with berries for dessert, each course was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. This is definitely the best restaurant in the area!
We ordered the halibut and salmon, but unfortunately, both were slightly overcooked. We had even mentioned this concern to the servers before placing our order. The salmon dish was piled high with vegetables, which overshadowed the unique flavors of the fish, making it resemble a stir-fry rather than a well-presented plate. The halibut was advertised as slow-roasted, yet it arrived at the same time as the salmon. While the chef clearly has talent, the dishes could benefit from a bit more attention to preparation and presentation.
The worst dining experience ever. I wasn 't able to reserve a dinner at Stephanie Inn so decided to search for other fine dining experiences around. The Pacific Way came out as one of the options with a lot of 5-star reviews. My family and I came in very enthusiastic and decided to try their 12-course chef tasting Epic menu. Two of us decided to pair it with the wine flight. There wasn 't many other people in the restaurant at that time, so we hoped for fast service... Boy were we wrong. Those 12 courses in the menu are grouped into groups, like 3 different salads, or 2 desserts. Given that they are all served for share in small portions, I expected them to be delivered in groups. Hell no, they all were delivered one-by-one with 15-20 minutes between them. We spent the first 2 hours hungry there until we finally reached the main courses. We spent whole 3!!! hours there, most of the time waiting for the next course with a ruined mood. Besides being slow, the service was just terrible: they often brought the wine after we were done with the course it was supposed to be paired with; one of the wine courses was just skipped completely and brought together with the dessert (apology? What apology? ; they brough a course (remember, all dishes are for share without bringing individual plates, so we had to pass that dish plate along the table eating from it one by one. Or no silverware for another course. So much of fine dining . The food was mostly good, but desserts were disappointing. And in the end, when it was clear that it was a 0 tip service, they had an audacity to slap us with 22% service fee since we had a large group of 5. We had just one evening in the area, and they ruined it completely; they stole our evening (I was sure I would catch the sunset since it was more than 2.5 hours later than our reservation time , they ruined our mood with the terrible service, and they didn 't have any regret nor apologized for that. I 'd better went to McDonalds. Avoid at all costs. Not worth even a single star.
Got a morning coffee here this place is nicely designed
