We were really new to the area and were genuinely greeted by the host/owner who operates at a very fast pace but takes time to visit with all his customers. We had a smile on our faces all night, joining in singing happy birthday to other tables and watching the locals having fun. We enjoyed the bar, food and prices. You want cozy, this is the place.
This restaurant on Church Street was recommended by the nearby motel I was staying at. It truly was a very good recommendation! This restaurant is housed in a converted house and been around since 1988. It has a very cosy atmosphere. Steve, the owner, greeted me and gave me a nice table to sit at. I looked over the menu and was surprised to find such a great variety of dishes. I asked for a suggestion and Steve recommended the Top Sirloin $20.99). I started with a small Caesar salad, very fresh and included with the meal. In my opinion, it should been accompanied with a piece of bread or hot roll. My main meal arrived shortly after and it was delicious. My AAA steak was cooked exactly how I had ordered it. It came with a very tasty pepper sauce and 2 delicious homemade 'croquettes '. These were freshly mashed potatoes that had been rolled in a secret coating and fried to a golden brown. I asked Steve for some garlic butter to dip them in. Delicious. I passed on the dessert, even though the 2 couples next to me seemed to be really enjoying their slices of cake. The really looked good. If you happen to be in Buckingham now part of Gatineau) make sure to drop in. You won 't regret it! Enjoy.
For the price of our families meal and the fact that we paid twice the amount for the very BURNED and very thin (only cheese) gluten free pizza for my grand children! This trip was awful and the 3rd time they burned the gluten free! The people are very nice but they need someone that can keep an eye on the pie!
Not the fine cuisine a mix of fast food gourmet fajitas and bj's potatoes I think it is the best on the menu
