Nice gastro pub. Well furnished for a warm country pub feeling. Very pleasant and welcoming staff and good drinking choice. A Tuesday night, but still almost full house gives a fab 1. impression. Star of the show in a gastro pub of course the food. Good price for excellent quality. Award-winning steak and cheesecake was fantastic. Top marks round. We'll be back.

A beautiful little find in Whickem at an award-winning cake, Litteraly! In an out all decorative with fires through, very cozy for a bite to eat and a few drinks. 10/10

This is a special pub, nice food, really pleasant environment, friendly staff. There is a good selection in the menu. Most articles are about £10 and above, but it is quite good value and well cooked. A reasonable selection of beer, but I would like to have some real ales on the menu. Fish and chips were really good, burgers looked nice and some nice pizzas. Award-winning cake on the menu that I will definitely try again!

Wonderful mid afternoon meal. The salmon with new potatoes, fennel and spinach aioli was divine; I especially loved the crispy salmon skin! Their award-winning chicken pie on a bed of mash was devoured to the last bite. Two burgers were equally superb. The New Zealand Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc was crisp and delicious. Friendly staff in a gorgeous setting. Highly recommended. We will definitely return!
