Braustuberl - Garmisch-Partenkirchen

It is quite an interesting place in terms of decoration and you have a mix of locals and tourists. The food is even good, but at least when we visited - the service was incredible slow. It was so ridiculous that we almost had to laugh at the end.

We choose this place because it was three minute walk from our hotel on a very rainy night. It was very very good food. Our waiter was a bit grumpy when he realized we didn't speak German but perhaps he was tired of translating for visitors. I would say the food more than made up for it. It wa s the best schnitzel we had on the trip and I had a dish I had never tried before and loved it. Wish I could remember the name.

Busy restaurant, they made room for our group of 8 even without a reservation. Very nice Wirtshaus atmosphere. Service was good, a bit slow, but it was very busy, the waiter very friendly. The food itself was tasty Bavarian cuisine. A bit pricey, but it is Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

We just had an overnight stop in Garmisch on our way to Italy. Once we arrived we asked our host for a recommendation for good local food. She recommended the Bräustüberl and it was a good recommendation! She said the duck was great. But after a long day of driving we didn't feel like a big dinner.The pork filet was awesome, as was the Leberkäse. Sadly, after reading reviews here, we didn't have room for the Kaiserschmarn. We'll definitely have to come back for that.

We visited on a Thursday night without a reservation. The dining room was busy, but space was made for us at a table with another couple. The food was very good. The service very professional and efficient. If you are interested in enjoying an authentic Bavarian dinner with the locals, this is a good choice.
