Shrimp Basket - Gardendale

We decided to sit outside because we had a larger group (8 adults and 2 kids) and overall, the food was really good. I have to be honest about the service, which I would rate as three stars. At first, it felt like our server wasn’t very interested in managing such a large party, but we later learned that he was the only waiter covering both the inside and our outdoor table. During our meal, we did notice that his attitude came off as a bit nonchalant or distant. While it wasn't necessarily his fault, that was our impression at the time. The restaurant sees a lot of consistent traffic, and it’s in a busy yet quiet area. Despite the service hiccup, we would definitely visit again.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at this restaurant for lunch, and I must say it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere was welcoming, making it a great spot to enjoy a meal. I highly recommend trying the salad, as it was fresh and full of flavor. The flounder was cooked to perfection, flaky and delicious, and the fries were crispy, making for a satisfying accompaniment. Overall, it's an excellent choice for a budget-friendly lunch that doesn't compromise on taste!

The okra was undercooked, and the shrimp tasted like it had been pre-cooked and then cooked again, resulting in a lack of flavor. For some reason, the flounder came shredded.
