Thien An - Garden Grove

This Vietnamese restaurant is one of my favorites. The decor is lovely, and the food exceeds all expectations. I highly recommend trying their combo, especially the beef prepared in seven different ways. All the condiments are conveniently placed on the table, allowing you to mix and create your own sauces. The prices are very reasonable. I highly recommend this place!

Thien An is a good choice if you're in the mood for Vietnamese-style grilled catfish and the popular 7 Course Beef. On our recent visit, our group of four ordered a medium broiled catfish along with marinated beef for self-grilling, which we wrapped in greens and rice paper. The catfish was incredibly crispy and had a nice flavor. However, I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because the fish had a slightly fishy taste. I've tried this dish at various places, and the quality of the fish can really vary based on how it’s cleaned and marinated. I want to emphasize that Thien An is very clean, and the staff maintains the restaurant well. The catfish was enjoyable, and with enough dipping sauce, the fishiness becomes less noticeable. On its own, though, some people, particularly those used to American standards, might find it a bit too strong. On the other hand, the self-grilled beef was fantastic. It was marinated with lemongrass and garlic, which is always a winning combination. I've often found that Yelp reviews reflect personal tastes rather than universal truths. Everyone has their own preferences, so I encourage you to visit Thien An and give it a try—you might just discover your new favorite spot for delicious Vietnamese food!

I was really impressed by her 7-bark cure and the fried fish! The new design also makes the place look much cleaner than before.

Alway happy eating here; my fav beef 7 courses. They let me switch the boil beef ball with 1 grill la lot. I never like the boil beef ball. Very consisten; I drink the dipping sauce. That how much I love their sauce with peanut, pickle lemon grass, and chili. I come here at least one a month. It's the sauce!!! !!!
