They have three tables outside for dining and it was clear they had a robust takeout operation. Given that it?s a modest unassuming spot, I was impressed with how busy it was and the food was great. Four of us sat at one of the nostalgic tables from the days of playing in the ball pit at McDonald?s. (You?ll know if you go. We started out with an order of the steamed veggie and pork dumplings which are made in house. They were perfectly cooked and were delicious. (The dumplings themselves are traditionally bland and meant to be dipped in the ponzu-like dipping sauce. For entrees we ordered a selection of grilled meats (kalbi, bulgogi, and spicy pork bulgogi and there were all really good. The bulgogi was tender and well-seasoned and the spicy pork had enough heat without burning my lips. We also ordered a bowl of kalguksu (knife -cut noodles in broth which was enormous! They offer a selection of broths including clam, beef bone broth, and traditional anchovy which is what I opted for. The broth was savory and the noodles were great. It easily could have served as the meal for two people. As for the banchan (side dishes , they presented a nice array of options, including a veggie-fruit salad and sautéed potato sticks which I hadn?t had since I was a kid. All very good. They serve beer and soju and the service was warm. If you?re willing to overlook the understated decor, I think you?ll be pleased with the selection and flavor of the food. It?s definitely found a spot in our regular rotation going forward.
The place is really hide away, but i like the portion and price of this place, some side dish are good. The cold buckwheat noodle are a good dish to share, the bibimbap is also good but would want more meat though cause i like to eat meat more. I got full on just 1 dish, i got 3 dish for 3 people and it is a lot of food. Worth a revisit if i ever want some korean cold noodle. If they have gimbap it would be lot more interesting since i like to snack on gimbap if done right.
A total hidden gem. Located in a small lot, this cozy little restaurants is simple and delicious. I came in at 10:30am on a Saturday and was greeted by a friendly auntie. I ordered and she quickly brought out a huge array of side dishes! Some familiar to me, some new. I really enjoyed the potato salad one because it also included sliced apples and broccoli. The tomato and one was also very good. My sujebi came shortly after and I was SHOOK at how huge the bowl was. This bowl of sujebi can easily feed 2-3 people. The bowl came out piping hot and delicious. The bowl was filled with a savory broth with squash, onions, anchovy, carrots and delightfully chewy hand torn noodles. Combined with the awesome selection of sides, I was so stuffed!!! The auntie came by and checked on me multiple times and refilled my potato salad when she saw how much I was enjoying it lol!By the time I was leaving, the place was getting pretty packed. My total including tax came out to be under $21. I will definitely be back.
The food portions are huge and so delicious! My favorites are their stir fried pork with kimchi and their naengmyun and kalgooksoo and yukgaejang. I like to come here 2-3 times a month with my family from Irvine and it never disappoints. Always great and I love how generous they are with their side dishes! I love Hanuri and it will always have a place in my heart and stomach!
I came on a whim after craving some sujebi and found this little gem! The lady working was super nice, got my order, and gave me a huge array of banchan. Kimchi is on the riper end which is my favorite type of kimchi. My favorite one was the shredded potato! The sujebi portion was HUGE! Broth was a light anchovy broth, perfect for the doughy blobs, and had potato, zucchini, and carrots. She also offered some pickled peppers to add into the broth which enhanced the flavors. For $18 this was a huge steal! I was eating sujebi for days. Such a cute little place, would definitely come here again!
