The Escape - Gannoruwa West

Situated next to the Mahaweli River across from the Royal Botanical Garden in Peradeniya, this restaurant offered me and my friends a lovely view of the river and the garden. We enjoyed a tasty and spicy Sri Lankan lunch. However, we found the place to be a bit messy and the service was not as good as expected.

The restaurant used to be good in the beginning, with tasty food and good service. However, it now seems to have expanded but lost its previous quality. I ordered fried sausages and was disappointed to receive only two small pieces with a large amount of onions, for which I was charged 650 rupees. I suggest asking about portion sizes before ordering, as my experience was not satisfactory. The restaurant is clean but understaffed, resulting in long wait times for orders to be prepared.

I highly recommend this place as it offers great customer service, delicious food at an affordable price.

A Good place to Have a couple of drinks Nice atmosphere since its near the Mahaveli river. You can bring your Booze from outside. The food quality is good !
