Skallywag Suds N' Grub - Galveston

My husband and I decided to have lunch at Skallywag to try out their food, as we had never been before. We were pleasantly surprised by how delicious everything was! The 1955 burger was cooked to perfection and juicy, while the fries had just the right amount of crunch. The wings were absolutely delicious, especially the ones with the dry rub seasoning. They also had a wide variety of craft beer and mixed drinks, as well as excellent service. Our bartender, Haley, was fantastic and even though you have to order at the bar, our food was brought to us promptly. The restaurant had plenty of TVs and interesting decor that made it a fun environment to explore. The music was great and at a comfortable volume, allowing us to enjoy our meal without having to shout. Overall, a fantastic dining experience that we look forward to repeating in the future.

Been coming here on off for many years and enjoy the food and beer selection. But, today I don't appreciate the bartender Devin not giving me my change back. She took it upon herself to keep my cash at the register and I had to request for it.

The name brought me in honestly. No acknowledgement upon entry, and that 's ok cause they were fairly busy. But you can tell when places take pride in their service and this didn 't feel like one of those spots. The atmosphere seems fun and gives that grimey looking for trouble vibe that intrigues me. But sadly that was the end of the intrigue. The red headed bartender looked annoyed the whole time , and apparently they don 't do the Bitchin Bulldog anymore. So that was a let down. The drink I ordered was watered down and just average like the service. Ended up going elsewhere for food. Their outside patio was nice and you can get a great view of the action on Kemah boardwalk/light house area. Parking is very hard to find and get in and out of. So probably best to come earlier or Uber it. Overall, just nothing memorable and not really worth a return visit for me since I look for adventure/inviting atmosphere and excellent drinks or food.

We loved this place! so glad we stopped. the atmosphere is pleasant, the people were nice, the drinks were great and their food was delicious! I wish we had a closer home because it would probably be our new hangout. if we ever find out about this way again, we will stop absolutely!

All I had at this place is too good to be true, and the mood and the employees of tje are absolutely wonderful
