Shucks Tavern - Galveston

Had an amazing lunch at Shucks Tavern today. Ordered the lunch special of Chicken Fried Chicken which came with a house salad (plentiful) which had a wonderful house dressing. The chicken was cooked perfectly and was a big portion that I shared with my companion. I ordered the fries and green beans as sides and absolutely loved them. Dessert was delicious as well. Our server was highly attentive and pleasant. In addition the tavern is very clean with beautiful decor. Truly loved the upscale vibe. We Truly loved our lunch experience and left stuffed!!! Can’t wait to return.

Waited over an hour for raw oysters with the restaurant half full and others arriving later than us were served. Manager did cover the beer we had while waiting (only reason for 2 stars). We went next door to Mama Teresa’s.

This place exceeded expectations. Best selection of oysters on the island and great service. Everything we tried was top notch. Will be back soon!
