Galvez Grill - Galveston

Everything was fantastic! We will definitely come back whenever we're in Galveston.

My wife and I have visited the Sunday Lunch buffet many times over the years, and we recently made a reservation for this weekend to celebrate her birthday. However, I just received a call informing me that men must wear ties and women must wear dresses. While I understand their policy, I haven't worn a tie in the last decade and I'm certainly not going to start now. Perhaps it's just me, but I find this requirement quite unreasonable—most professionals I know don't even own a tie anymore. Who wears ties these days except for weddings and funerals? It's disappointing, especially since we have always enjoyed our time there.

This food was truly exceptional. I ordered the carne asada fries, while my husband enjoyed the chocolate cake, and it turned out to be one of the best room service dinners we've ever experienced. Their cheesecake is delightfully tart, and getting to indulge in it while enjoying an ocean view of the Gulf is simply unbeatable! I'm really looking forward to trying their breakfast, especially the crab Benedict! We will definitely be returning to the newly revamped Grand Galvez.

Gaidos was full so we decided to eat here with no wait. Food, service and Ambiance were great. No stress No wait but still enjoyed a nice meal with great cocktails. Menu was smaller than other restaurant but everything we had was awesome.

The food was great. My wife had the Jambalaya and I had the crab stuffed redfish. We think the waiter was on a learning curve as he was very tentative at times and a bit awkward when asking if we were ready for the check. Having said that he was very courteous and clearly wanted us to enjoy our experience. Unfortunately, after the dinner was over we tried to get our car from the valet service but all of the valets had gone home. We were not the only ones inconvenienced. An overworked front desk attendant was left to sort things out which he did with as much professionalism as he could muster. We're sure things will improve as we emerge from the Covid hangover.
