It was getting close to 2pm we stopped at several different restaurants, knowing that it was close to afternoon quitting time. Both of them lackadaisically said they could seat us outside (with several open tables within view inside), and after putting our names on the waiting list, left. You could tell they were intentionally avoiding us, undoubtedly because it was afternoon extended break/siesta time. My wife asked a local produce man for his dining recommendation, he hurriedly walked us about two blocks away to Mare Navicula. We were greeted promptly by a restaurant employee seated immediately, despite the fact that it was closing time. The place was extremely busy there was only one other table open. The service at this dining spot was simply superb. We ate well, and for a very reasonable price. The food was quite good, and the staff hustled around the place and visibly worked very hard. Never the less, they were all quite amiable. There are a lot of great restaurants in Gallipoli, but at Mare Navicula you'll get good food for a good price with outstanding service.
I had the seafood pasta and my wife had the fried calamari.A green salad and the local wine we would dine here again. The service was on the money
Nice little fish restaurant in the old town of Gallipoli. Very fresh and well cooked food. We are pleased that we just went by and recognized the good feeling that the people and place send! Sooner we found out that they even fish their own food.
Locale carino nei vicoletti della Gallipoli storica. Niente da dire sul locale che ha anche la possibilità di mangiare all'esterno (che io sconsiglio per il passaggio di numerosi mezzi quasi accanto al tavolo). Per quanto riguarda il cibo ci sono stati aspetti positivi e negativi con prezzi nella media di quelli nelle vicinanze. Antipasto con crudo di gamberi viola davvero buono ed ottime anche le polpette di polpo, seppur poche. Grossa delusione il primo, cioè le linguine con scampi e gambero rosso, buonine ma strapiene di salsa che soffocava il sapore dei crostacei (sarebbero anche potuti essere stracongelati e non me ne sarei accorto). Localino a me sconosciuto, in un micro vicolo del centro pedonale. Una piccola distesa esterna, colori molto piacevoli e personale molto giovane. Ottime le pittule miste e la grigliata di pesce , buona l’impepata di cozze.
