156 East Grill - Galesburg

We stumbled upon this restaurant after taking a break from the highway and exploring downtown Galesburg. We're so glad we did! The food was outstanding and the service was excellent! Food: 5/5

However, I do have a couple of complaints. While you can add curds or other toppings to your fries for an extra charge, I found it strange that you can’t mix and match freely; you just have to pay extra. Also, I ordered homemade potato salad, but it never arrived. Despite these issues, I’m definitely planning to return because the food was genuinely excellent.

Stopped in for lunch while on a work trip. Ordered the pickle fries, a gyro, and the homemade potato salad and boy am I glad I did. Everything was delicious, prompt, and extractor what I wanted. If you’re looking for a quick bite, dinner, and just a beer this place is great. Highly recommend.Food: 5/5

I ordered the Bourbon chicken sandwich, and it was delicious. My wife had the Gyro salad plate, which was also very good. The waitress was attentive and friendly, always greeting us with a smile. The atmosphere was nice and casual, making it very relaxing. I really appreciated the exposed brick walls as well. Food: 5/5.

I’m so glad this place exists in Galesburg! I was recommended to come here via a friend and I’m so glad they did! Our host was fantastic and broke down everything on the menu so we could get what was best for us. You literally cannot go wrong with anything in it! I personally would recommend the chick shawarma or the buttered chicken! Peace to these good folks at 156 will definitely be a must visit the next time I’m in Galesburg!
