Kyoto At Virginia - Galax

There has been a noticeable change since last year at this restaurant. My husband's combination plate, which typically has a larger portion size due to the steak and chicken, was now similar in size to my regular hibachi chicken plate. However, the price had increased significantly while the portions had shrunk. It would be better to either keep the portion size the same if raising prices or to keep prices the same and reduce the portion size, not both. The chicken was slightly tough and the carrots were not as tasty as they usually are.

This restaurant is without a doubt the best place to eat in Galax. The food is delicious, the servers are warm and friendly. We give it a five-star rating for taste, cost, and service.

If I could, I would give them zero stars. The portions are small, the service is lacking, and to top it off, there are hidden fees added on top of the advertised price and sales tax. When I questioned the manager, they said it was done automatically by the credit card machine. When I asked to see where this was indicated, they pointed to a small sign that mentioned the extra charge. I would not recommend dining at this establishment. It's not about the amount, it's about the principle.
