I'm not sure what went wrong this time. I've ordered the Sardis Salmon many times before, and it's usually delicious. However, on this occasion, the salmon was bland, tasteless, and not cooked properly. The rice and beans were fine, though.
I visited on a Wednesday afternoon when it wasn't very busy. The restaurant has a lovely decor that gives off a warm vibe, and the staff were professional and efficient. The food was tasty, though fairly typical. The fancy packaging for the sauces might be why the prices are on the higher side. However, I found the side portions to be quite small, especially when compared to places like Crisp & Juicy or Don Pollo—both of which excel at serving up pollo a la brasa.
This is likely the best Peruvian and grilled chicken restaurant in the area. While the dining ambiance could use some updating, the focus here is on the food. They serve hot, juicy chicken that is exceptionally well-marinated. The quality and portion sizes surpass those of other local spots. The plantains are sweet and crispy, although the yuca fries can be a bit tough and are just average. Overall, it's a great option for takeout if you're craving chicken.
I didn't take any photos of the chicken because I was completely captivated by its deliciousness. By the time I thought about snapping a picture, I had already devoured it all! Someone really needs to reach out to Guy Fieri and get this place featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives because this chicken is absolutely amazing.
