Sonny's Bbq - Gainesville

Started out rough. From the minute we entered the place we noticed a rude lady pushing the hostess out of her way with her elbow and my friend looked at me and said just what I was thinking. (How rude). Then we were seated and our server was the rude lady. I thought to myself this is not going to be a good lunch. She was new and not up with the menu. It was plain to see. After 10 minutes trying to get our order right. My friend exploded. A manager was called to us, and I must say he handled the problem well. Replaced our server and we got excellent service after that. We still love Sonny's. Good save. Peace

Good service. Large seating area. Ribs took a good 15 minutes to come out but were very tasty. The lunch portion is a good size, left feeling very full ! They will give you a to go huge drink of what you ordered at the table if you ask for it, great if you are on the move! Photos as of dec 2019.

Food was great, service was excellent, clean restaurant and bathrooms. Would have given it a 5 star review if they still had a salad bar!

I had the turkey lunch break. meat was so moist. cindy was my server at the bar. very efficient and pleasant.

I always enjoy eating here! Whether it is takeout or dine-in, the experience is always top notch. Recently, I went through the drive thru for a quick lunch and was greeted by the kindest, most upbeat staff! The young woman at the window made sure to ask what sauce I wanted and made sure to give me plenty! I think her name was Lolly, she definitely knew what service with a smile meant! I always look forward to coming here
