Went with my sis to an appointment and found this spot in Gainesville on Atlanta hwy, good food, great service and welcoming atmosphere.Food: 5/5
I am surprised this place has as many positive reviews as it does. The food wasn’t the best. I visited with my family for the first time in years and it was cold with little to no flavor. Some of it (food) was simply awful. I should have known. Not even the drink I ordered was good. It definitely used to be better. We were very disappointed. At least it wasn’t too expensive for what all we ordered, so it didn’t feel as if too much money went to trash.
I used to eat at Mama Ruth's in the 70's and 80's. It was our go to place to get together with family. I had my first chicken sandwich here before Chick-Fil-a. We had heard that Chick-fil-A had chicken sandwiches too in Atlanta. This was back when it at least seemed like Mama Ruth either worked there or owned it. Now by the photos it looks like it's gone Mexican. I bet the only connection to Mama Ruth's is just the sign. I would love to go back to the old Mama Ruth's but I think it's probably gone. I love Mexican food but seems weird for Mama Ruth's.
