La Tienda - Gainesville

Delicious, authentic mexican food. None of that tex-mex stuff other restaurants offer, this is authentic mexican food. Service is great and food is always delicious and of great quality. They also have a small convenience store attached that offers some great hispanic spices, snacks, candies, and frozen food.

Authentic Mexican food and atmosphere with outdoor seating available. We stopped here because our first choice was about to close and fortunately they were still open (closes at 10PM). They had a pretty extensive menu ranging from tacos to dinner entrees. My kids got the chicken fingers and quesadilla which were large portions, while I had a salad with chicken and my wife opted for carne asada tacos. Everything we had was great, my chicken had a flavorful marinade and was well seared outside and juicy inside. The quesadilla was made with a mexican white cheese, no cheddar in sight. The carne asada was tasty but not as juicy as what we've had in San Diego but still very good. Definitely will hit the spot if you are craving some real Mexican food!

La Tienda its just the perfect place if you want to eat real authentic mexican food. We started off with a trio of Guacamole, Queso Fundido, and Salsa. We ordered 6 Tacos and the Birra Tacos were the best by far. The Camarones a la Diabla were also very rich in flavor. However, the reason for the 4 starts is due to the slow service, the kitchen to table execution could have been much better. Overall, amazing food.

Since we recently moved to gainesville, I asked for a good Mexican restaurant and la tienda come again and again so we tried, I would suggest.

My favorite restaurant in Gainesville! Very delicious food. There is usually a significant wait, so I would recommend getting chips to tide you over in the meantime. Alternatively, you can call in your order to have it ready sooner.
