Sarahs - Gaevle

We had dinner at this restaurant based on Trip Advisor reviews. We were not disappointed. Our meals were very tasty. The staff was helpful and able to provide some guidance. Located in close to the downtown area, it was within walking distance to our hotel.

Excellent outdoor seating and the staff was very nice. Friendly and quick with everything. The food had its highlights. I enjoyed their homemade BBQ sauce and the sweet potato fries, but the meat was sub-par. A bit stringy and slightly overdone. Good wine pairing thou.

It started with a pleasant greeting and a nice table. The menu showcases traditional regional dishes and all 4 dishes we had were exceptional with quality ingredients, interesting textures and flavours. Nothing bold mind you, this is Sweden. The paired drink recommendation worked very well when I took it otherwise we shared a bottle of wine from the typical Scandinavian list. The slow cooked wild duck was the highlight as was the excellent service throughout the evening. Well worth a stop.

Very centrally located in Gavle, cozy interior and a nice terrace in case of good weather. Good local food and even Swedish wine. Good meet with mushroom sauce. Kind and competent waiters happy to help.

I've been going to Sarah's a few times and it's been good every time. Tasty and well made food, friendly service and nice ambience. In summer nice outdoors seating area.
