Pavillion Fairground. - Gaborone

I checked out the place last week Thursday. The place is practically dead, for those who know and have come a long way with the place will know that a Thursday night was a crowd puller because of the cocktail special that used to happen. You would get there at 7pm and you wouldn't find a seat and you can imagine how big the outdoor sitting area is to not get a seat and this was before covid. There would be great music playing and the wings special so overall very easy on the pocket compared to all other hangouts in Gaborone with similar offerings. This was my friends and I's favorite spot because the prices were very reasonable and the place is really chilled and outdoorsy so one doesn't feel cramped up. The garden is cute as well. Going there this past week was sad and finding less than 10 people was just sad , it's such a wasted space .it has so much potential because its well maintained and it was a spot for young professionals and was peaceful with no drama. The security on point and lots and lots of safe parking space. Hopefully they will do something soon and hopefully hire young hostesses as well. Otherwise my friend's gin got finished on the 1st glass and had to switch brand, the lime also ran out but they replenished a few drinks later. My second glass of cocktail came without the umbrella and it wasn't consistent with the 1st one. Had to request for it. On a good note I ordered the ribs they were delicious and the portion was worthy of the price .

Great food, served by a non attentive waitress...brought tea with no sugar...and dirty cups

I don't even know where to start, it was a bad experience and I don't think I will go back there again. We decided to go for their most advertised ribs night on Mondays. We got there around 6pm, we were ushered to our table and given menu. We waited for the waiter to come get our order and ended up leaving the table to go make food and drinks order inside after almost 30mins. Waited for more than an hour for our food which we never got because they forgot to place an order with the kitchen and by the time they did after we asked questions, they were out of ribs. The place was not busy but the service was bad.

Good food, decent Wi-Fi, ample parking and seating. The monkeys are disruptive and annoying though.

It was a great relaxed experience, the openness of area confirms to covid protocol. Great place to have lunch.
