Cafe Dijo - Gaborone

Go to place for a healthy hearty lunch Great coffee and no better carrot cake in town but here!

Lovely cafe vibe in the middle of a commercial district. Intimate seating inside and decent outdoor seating. Nice menu thats regularly refreshed so a nice mix of the std Cafe Dijo favourites and something new and interesting each visit. The lasagne, burger, muffins and cakes are great favourites. Staff is great too. Nice for casaul meetings for 2 or a small group. I usually time visits for breakfast through to lunch and mid afternoon. No seperate area for particularly energetic kids to play but perfectly fine if your bunch will sit with you contentedly.

Simple restaurant for a simple meal. You sit down, there is no menu, you get up, walk to the chalkboard menu, choose a dish, sit down again order, they don't have, go back to the chalk board, choose something else, hoping they will jabe this time, sit down, order. Ridiculous. One beef lasagna for P95 comes with fries and fresh salad (very rare in Botswana). Approved. Nice atmosphere as well. Service is what service is in Botswana. They took 10 minutes to bring the credit card machine and took away chairs from my table while I was still seated.

Really comfortable... Feels like home,easy to forget that one is in a public place...really welcoming

We both enjoyed the food as place. Service was good. Breakfast was good but maybe missing some items normally on a traditional English. No beans, no mushrooms. The Grilled Tomato was perfection as actually cooked unlike most places. Toast was nice but needed another butter portion. Tea was in a pot so good. Three sausages was great. Bacon portion was good. Eggs a little under done but cannot complain as still runny. Asking 30 for a small portion of chips on the side is laughable. The minus was for the shockingly bad internet. It's not an internet café but it should work. It's was slow and disconnecting frequently.
