Restaurante Red Lion - Funchal

Unfortunately this restaurant has closed down and food and drinks are no longer available It is a shame as it was always a busy place Unfortunately I think covid claimed another casualty

The Red Lion serves good food at reasonable prices Very friendly staff and nice menu. Well worth a visit

We stopped by this place for a quick dring for old tomes'sake as we remembered it from a previous visit ti Madeira. Obviously the place had changed considerably but the staff were very friendly and the snacks were very good indeed. WE shall certainly return to this place.

We always come to the red lion for our evening meal. Beautifully presented and delicious. The staff are most helpful and obliging, very friendly. We came the last week in January and before then,September and October. Cannot wait to visit again.

Located just up the road from one of our now favourite watering holes. Was empty when we passed by, but needed a light snack and their snack menu looked as if it filled the bill, we had the shrimp omelette and ham and cheese omelette both with salad and chips and glass of house wine. Omlettes were excellent both with plenty of filling, hitting the spot. Wine was surprisingly good for house red and white and would certainly recommend. Just needed a few people to create more of an atmosphere, but mine host was welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Nice find and will be back.
