Goya - Funchal

The quality of food at Goya is quite good, but her understanding of what vegan food is needs improvement. You have 2 dishes that are vegetarian and can be modified to be vegan, but if I have my gnocchi after a whole conversation about being vegan and checking many menu items my dish came up with Parmesan shavings above. I told an employee and I didn't make a big deal. I was hoping they would have a discount or offer to change the court, but a simple excuse was the extent of it. Very friendly staff and probably more on the market than I usually go for (violin players during the meal, especially older couples enjoy the classic decoration of the place).

They have 2 dishes that are vegetarian and can be modified to be vegan, however when I received my gnocchi after a whole conversation about being vegan and checking many menu items my dish arrived with Parmesan shavings on top. I told a member of staff and I didn’t make a big deal out of it. I’d hoped they would give a discount or offer to change the dish but a simple apology was the extent of it. Very friendly staff and probably more up market than I’d usually go for (violin player while eating, mainly older couples enjoying the classic decor of the place).
