The first time like that for a ramen store, and I would go back and try again. The Gyoza was also delicious.
Visited with great expectations learning and experiencing the Hakata style of ramen. Ordered the most basic option ¥650) and it didn’t disappoint at all — most importantly the rich, smooth, bubbling soup base with just enough fat and a tremendous amount of aftertastes — except the fact that it doesn’t look like a clean, well-maintained store space. But my rating says it all: it didn’t really matter as long as the soup remains its soul.
Great ramen spot in Fukuoka! You could smell the broth from two block away! This tiny and busy place offers some delicious and silky broth (tonkotsu-based broth with a hint of milk that goes so well with the ramen noodle! Expect to queue for a bit! Orders are placed using the machine -only in Japanese! (The serving staff is only speaking Japanese and are not keen on helping you order! So you better be ready!
Tonkatsu ramen at its finest. Great deep flavor. They have fresh garlic you can crush and add to the ramen. Worth the wait and must visit in Fukuoka! Broth was amazing, it’s was rich but not overpowering.
Certainly a wild experience, but glad to have it! People aren't kidding about the smell, it's very strong and comes off very rank, but both my wife and I were excited to see what was in store for us. Ordered from the vending machine the first two options on the menu as we weren't sure what we'd get. I think #1 was basic ramen and #2 was basic ramen with a ramen egg in it (would highly recommend the egg). Also ordered 2 bottled beers but probably could have shared one as they were large! Ramen was delicious, and I think it smelling so stinky made the delicious taste all the more surprising. I don't think it's my favorite ramen of all time, but was an unforgettable experience overall and really quite good. We both crushed a table side garlic clove into ours and that was such a great addition
