The Cuban Flavor - Friendswood

Hands down the best restaurant in Friendswood! You could not pick a bad dish on the menu if you tried. The food is clearly made with love and is always delicious; the empanadas are a must-have (I recommend the ropa vieja filling). Most importantly, the staff is so kind and impressive. They go the extra mile every time for every guest. I seriously cannot recommend this place enough!

This review is for the Cuban Flavor that opened under new ownership in January 2024. We had been semi-regulars at the former Cuban Flavor and enjoyed their food. We decided to try the new restaurant after giving them a few weeks to settle in.The decor has been upgraded and feels very welcoming. We were able to interact with Madison, Antonio, and the owner, Jennifer, who were all extremely kind and attentive. The menu has a variety of Cuban specialties, and promises of more to come as the restaurant matures. The empanadas de ropa vieja were outstanding, the pastry light and flaky and well stuffed with superbly seasoned meat. We tried mains of pernil and masitas (both pork dishes) and both were again very well seasoned and generously portioned. The congri was moist and flavorful, and although not on the menu, tostones were available and were fried nicely with no trace of greasiness. I personally would have preferred more garlic in the mofongo, but I am more familiar with Puerto Rican style mofongo, and there may be a difference in how it is prepared in Cuba. There is a full bar and a small wine list to enhance your meal...we can recommend the Tempranillo. We left very satisfied and happy to see a new restaurant on the Friendswood scene. Do yourself a tasty favor and try it out!

On Friday I went again to The Cuban Flavor Restaurant and Premium Rum Bar and it was excellent!! I had some garlic shrimp and they were really delicious!!Kid-friendliness: Great pasta and cheese base dishes

Good evening, I'm just passing by to express my point of view. Today I was at the Cuban Flavor restaurant and I didn't like the food at all. Too much delay and I really don't know what I was eating, whether it was old clothes or a mop quilt, but good for the tastes. colors on my part is a zero out of a hundred I do not recommend it at all

Valentine's Day with the worst Service and food in my entire life, and it happened to several neighboring tables, I don't like to give bad reviews, but the truth is that this is three stars and not one for the simple fact that It was clean and the servers, despite being terrible and incompetent, were at least polite and humble, but not the manager, perhaps completely overwhelmed by the situation and her absolute lack of control over what she was doing. I really don't recommend it, they have gotten much worse than the original, which was not mediocre, but for the conceited neighborhood in which it already served to make them believe they were cosmopolitan, now not even that...
