Best OG hole in the wall in Fresno! Casual tiny diner with the yummiest Mexican breakfast. I took my Tias (aunts) that were visiting from Texas, and they loved it, too! My go-to is the nopales and my kids used to love going when they were little because they loved seeing huevos con weinees on the menu. It is a nostalgic venue with pictures if Cuca herself with various celebrities including Freddy Fender. Enjoy!Vegetarian options: Beans and rice, cheese enchiladas quesadillas
Home made mexican food just like grandma used to make!the best enchiladas.
Went here on a Saturday morning. Parking was easy to find (on the street) and it wasn't busy inside. This is a very hole-in-the-wall place. You can tell by the outside with the 70's vintage cantina signage outside. The inside is very dimmed, dark brown walls with old pictures of Mexican figures and the founder of the restaurant. The menu was pretty simple with 5-7 items to choose for breakfast. I ordered huevos con papa and chorizo that came with beans. I didn't feel I got enough chorizo and the papas tasted like it needed more time on the skillet. The beans were good. Brown beans that were probably cooked on the fat of the chorizo that gave it a brown/red color. Flour or corn tortillas come with the meal.Overall, the food was decent. The ladies working there were very nice! You felt at home in there. Mexican music playing from the radio gave you a 70's-80's vibe. That would be a reason I'd give them another chance. Alas, I live an hour from there, so I very likely won't make the drive to eat there again, but this is definitely a local-local joint.
My first time going to Cuca's it was damn good, definitely going back!
