Papa King's - Fremantle

A group of friends went to Papa Kings restaurant in Freo. The music if no good. we used to love the regae music of "The Freo Grasshoppers" but they don't seem to be there anymore. That was fantastic music. the food is not as nice anymore. we tried the ribs for main, but they were very fatty, the mango pudding was ok but all round quite expensive.I would not recommend this place anymore. There are much nicer places to eat Like Creatures, or Creatures next door with fantastic views.

We loved the food - something really different and delicious. Very reasonable prices and the staff were very good.

Went there tonight with two caribean friends. Summary ..very disappointing! Opportunities for improvement....turn the music down( there is a reason no one is eating inside); train the staff( they don't know about the food .they couldn't even tell us how many croquettes came in a serve); drinks are expensive; food is bland for caribean fare.The staff are friendly enough but are leaderless. Make some improvements before people start to talk negatively.Get an independent audit and pay attention.

Visited for a workday lunch. Service was friendly and unobtrusive. Ordered a selection of (economical) bar menu dishes from the bigger menu of (interesting) dishes. Loved the sweet potato fries and Mauritian samosas - however, the spicy chicken wings lacked any hint of spice. The venue looks great and was comfortable and roomy. The fire pit and band stage suggest that the venue is well worth visiting again on a weekend evening - certainly to try the wider menu and great range of drinks.

I visited this restaurant a few times, and it gets better every time. Chose a night when the band is playing, or when the music is on.
