Munchies - Fremantle

This burger joint is so old school its cool. This is your original burger joint, lost in time, dosn't try to be anything else except what it is which is an original burger joint. It's not fancy, its not attractive and its not in the centre of town. Its a favourite with the bus drivers, taxi drivers and late night drinkers looking for that all out burger, hotdog or fries. This is a burger joint that does excellent old world burgers, what ever you want, just ask. Its across the road from the Fremantle wharf, so its not attractive, has bench seating and looks out on a carpark. And its not well known except by the locals. This is not a dining experience but its so old world, honest and welcoming that to grab a burger from this joint is an experience in itself.

We make the trip to Perth three times a year and the last two times have headed to Freo for a burger at Captain Munchies. Don't expect a fancy restaurant , very casual, take away or eat at the tables. Not fancy, but the food is great

I mean, I wouldn't go here every day of the week but if you have had a night on the town its worth a visit! They definitely do a reasonable box of chips and the staff are lovely. I must admit, after a night on the town I was a little intoxicated and I took an ice cream without paying but the staff were really nice about it when I went back to pay the next day!

I was running late and I was looking for a hamburger for lunch in the Freo area. I bought a hamburger here and the service was slow and the product was largely left because it was so poorly prepared. Could not recommend.

This place is awesome open 24 hours friendly service great location the burgers and chips are really nice
