Przekaż informację zwrotnąWe went for a cosy evening out during our stay in Freiburg. Lovely ambience, very romantic and warm. The food was delicious; the nougat mousse a dream! Service very attentive and kind. Booking recommended as the place is always full.
This was without a doubt the best dining experience of our 2 week visit to the Freiburg area.We opted for the fixed course meal and were not disappointed,,everything well presented and delicious.Staff was friendly, accommodating (as we just did a walk up,no reservations)and went out of their way to ensure we well taken care of.Or only disappointment was that they were closed for the second week of our trip.Definitely a do not miss place.
Entering the Eichhalde you feel like being home again.Nice Ambiente, no stylish Approach, a "Gastraum" to sit together, talk, enjoy the Food and the wine.You can pick the "Menu du Jour", the vegetarian, the "Mini Menu", a la carte as well or mix them all together.And when you are lucky you even can order items like "foie gras" not listed but hidden in the kitchen.We (4 preople) started with this superb foie, accompanied by a 0.5l bottle of Trokenbeerenauslese. We enjoyed foie 3 times during the last weeks, and here we found absolutely the best in taste and consistence.The following 3 courses were mixed and matched from a la carte and the "minis" - smaler portions which give you the Chance to enjoy a larger variety of all These good Food. Great pulpo (along eith safran-aioli and Auberginen Kompott), delicious soups (like a deep consomme from poultry or a soup of Pastinaken).Lamb with Ravioli (stuffed with Parmesan) or trout (and White root feuillette, brussels sprouts) .... I should have choosen the peppered roastbeef before the pulpo; it was cold (my fault as I did not ask), the smoked salad of potatoes-apple was unfortunatel unbalanced, too much smoked so the teste of the Roastbeefgot lost.The austrian White Burgundy and red Merlot was perfect with all These dishes. For years I have found this place outstanding, but it has gone even better. From time to time there is a mini menu, which means about 10 different courses in smaller portions to choose from. Not only do they look delicious but they also taste so.The choice is hard to make. I wonder how a chef is capable to cope with such a variety. Prices are absolutely justified, not cheap but worth every cent. On top of that there are two more regular menus on offer.Service is friendly, the newly decorated two rooms very pleasant and adapted to the different seasons. For me it is always a joy to return.
It was our first meal at the Eichhalde and it will certainly not be our last. We had the Regio and Klassik Menus, both of which came up to our expectations. It was a busy evening for the staff and two mistakes occured which I put down to the pressure on them. We had open wine with the meal, my wife one sort for the whole meal and I had a white to start with and a red for the main course. One of the staff topped up my glass of white from the caraffe containing my wife's wine (a different wine) before I could stop her. When the main course came the dishes were wrongly served despite my questioning - my wife ate my lamb and I ate her beef! A couple of pralinen with the bill would have been a "nice" touch to round off the evening.
