[catch] Urban Grill - Fredericton

Decided to come here after reading some reviews but what really convinced me was the picture of the fish taco's. So I didn't even look at the menu and asked for them. Well, the recipe recently changed and they were not longer the same. They were ok, but quite bland. Wouldn't have them again. No salsa or cilantro definitely disappointing. Fish cakes were good as an appetizer! And the wine is always good ! Atmosphere was nice but my glass was empty for a very long time before anyone came around to see if I needed more.

I've been coming here for at least 20 years, so we decided to celebrate an anniversary with a casual soirée here. We were not disappointed. Staff welcomed us warmly, seated us promptly and had a drink order in straightaway. We ordered Spinach/Artichoke Dip as a starter. It was piping hot and delicious. We followed with Salmon Burger for me and Roast Beef Dip for my wife. Again, both were done to perfection and served with panache. Very good selection of local and craft beers, as well as a comprehensive drink menu. The young lady who looked after us was exceptionally kind and attentive. She made it a memorable night for us. We shall return. Highly recommended.

It was very busy when we were there, people eating, having drinks, relaxing. It has an upscale look but the atmosphere is casual. The staff are certainly very busy, but friendly and pretty quick considering the amount of customers (at the time). Had the club sandwich and was a bit disappointed in it, the bread was barely toasted, but besides that it was alright. Will go back again.

Variety of options, at least 6 taps ready to go, friendly service. I particularly enjoyed the chowder. The mussels were very decent too!

Met another couple for a nice evening drink/snack at DJ Purdy's. It is a lively upscale hotel bar. Service was friendly, but we were not impressed with the appetizers we ordered. We shared a "Tower of Nachos", and also the mussels. The nachos were OK. The mussels were just tasteless and chewy, not at all what we'd hoped for.
