The Cafe New Orleans - Fredericksburg

Stopped for a birthday dinner for my man, this place was fantastic! the staff, including the kitchen staff, was positiw and received us during the meal. husbands steak was cooked to perfection and I didn't even have to eat it in the brokkoli, which was well roasted. our children lived the dirty rice and the fried salmon. my oyster-po-boy was from this world! would highly recommend stopping from this charming joint!

Amazing food and personable service. The menu is creative. Everything was superb!! Make sure to pack your patience because they take their time, but the food was worth the wait.

We stumbled on this restaurant and so happy we did : Jambalaya, andouille sausage bites, and bread pudding were delicious! We hear the fried bananas are also very good.

Out for an anniversary dinner and we stopped in here because it seemed quiet and quaint. The place was almost completely empty and we wondered why but took the risk. The menu is amazing and the food was INCREDIBLE! We shared a crab cake salad (best ones I've ever had! , the root beer sliders appetizer, and the duck and andouille sausage jambalaya. Everything was so delicious! The chef came to our table to ask how we enjoyed the food. The only reason this place doesn't get a 5-star review is because our server was incredibly lackluster. We actually joked about what it would take for us to simply get a smile out of her. (We did finally get one. Despite the server, we would definitely return for the amazing food.

EDIT The owner of Cafe New Orleans claims that they are out of business,, but J2's Restaurant and Lounge both lists the same address and delivered food that looks suspiciously similar to the food images from Cafe New Orleans. Once whoever owns J2's also owns the Google maps listing for this address I will remove this edit. Until then this is the only way to find reviews on this place easily. This review is for the listing they have on DoorDash as J2's Restaurant and Lounge. The driver showed up at the restaurant and waited for 20 minutes before a new driver was assigned, who also showed up and waited another 20 minutes. The restaurant took so long to make the order that it arrived almost an hour and a half after ordering, even though I'm not that far away. They didn't deliver at least 3 items we ordered. The fried broccoli was disgusting. Okra was slightly fried. The worst was the shrimp and oyster po'boy. It had no shrimp at all, and 4 small pieces of oyster. It had none of the sauce it claims to come with either. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. Will never ever order or risk eating here again.
