Demera - Frankfurt am Main

Near U Bahstoppstelle Holzhausenstraße we discovered the Ethiopian restaurant Demera. On the one hand there are many dishes a la Carte, but on Thursday also a buffet for 12 €. Beautiful atmosphere, with subtle music and good value for money. I recommend! Thanks to our positive experiences in Nuremberg with Ethiopian cuisine, we decided this time to try something in the way. We actually wanted to visit another restaurant in downtown, but it was different. On the first day we wanted to see the family house Frank, I noticed the sign I photographed. By indicating that this is an Ethiopian restaurant, we wanted to see if there is a menu in front of the restaurant or what the opening hours look, we decided to go down. We were lucky because a young man seemed very busy. On request it was said that it was an exception that it was there, because it is usually only opened in the week of 17 (but it was only early afternoon). I thought we could take a look at the menu that was hidden. The prices were moderate, the temptation was great to come a little later a day. On Thursday came the tip with the buffet! Banged, noticed and driven this day (after a long tour marathon! ... You can sit outside on the terrace in beautiful weather, but because of the volume we didn't feel so! We decided to sit inside. There are two different rooms. In the first one can see pictures on the walls where people from Africa were to see, the background is kept in different brown tones. Since there was no free table, we went to the next room. There you could admire a wild landscape with animals on a very large photo wallpaper, with a lamp of Bast under the ceiling. There is a feeling of vacation! Because of food, there were some reservations from my partner in advance because he suspected that I would make a long shot again because I would eat only 2 3 things (because of my allergies, but I myself was more enthusiastic about it later than he was! But before it happened, I had to have a buffet before the decision. Look at the different containers. In any case, it looked delicious, even though some papers were missing at the time. But there was no question for me: lentils in sauce (as well as other legumes, minced meat sauce (whether it is genuinely Ethiopian?! and peanut paste. Too bad I found that the respective dishes were written by hand on a custom sheet of paper (where one could not read the font... if one knows it, everything is not a problem, but everything was explained by the operator (what we met at the door). Whether everything was really authentic, I can't say, but that was the big point behind it (also because of the note, already because of expectations, this place to the one in Nuremberg! An operator can certainly not conjure “exotic meat” that you do not exist anywhere, but it does not have to exist. What I tried cost me, but there were irritations about the clues “sharf” that was definitely not, but the allegedly mild curry (it looked anyway! The buffet stands in a niche next to the window, the tables below, as everyone covered with fabric blankets, there was something. There were not only meat eaters, as we are satisfied, enough vegetarian dishes. Beef and chicken in different flavors before you can either take a salad or soup. The additions include potatoes, ocraschotes, but if Wirsing is an adjustment to the European situation, I cannot judge, but it has already been suspected by both of us. The dessert – rice with fruits and a white mass (no idea we both dispensed with. Generally, it didn't work really well with the push-up, but there was enough choice to choose an alternative. But if it was so far, it would be fast, because the store was very well filled The beverage prices, both with, like without alcohol, were €2.50. Finally, we ordered a typical Ethiopian snack (for digestion – 'Catikula', but my taste was not. The prices are for buffet and a la carte with approx. €1215. When I weigh everything against each other, especially the objections of my partner, 3 stars come out.

Das Essen war sehr lecker, aber leider nicht sehr heiß. Der Service war freundlich. Das Ambiente war sehr schön.

Super Service, Top Ambiente, Essen hat gut geschmeckt Top.

Sehr leckeres Essen, auch für europäische Mägen geeignet. Sehr entgegen kommendes Personal. Auch Sonderwünsche bzgl. Glutenfrei oder Vegetarisch werden berücksichtigt. Top

Unser erster, seit langem geplanter Besuch in diesem Restaurant. Das Essen war lecker, gut gewürzt und etwas lauwarm, aber vielleicht ist das landestypisch? Der Service war schnell und sehr freundlich, Sonderwünsche (Essen für eine Person zu zweit) waren kein Problem. Einziger Wermutstropfen: am Nachbartisch saß eine größere Gruppe, die sich lebhaft und laut unterhielt, sodass bei uns praktisch kein Gespräch mehr möglich war. Auf jeden Fall werden wir wieder kommen!
