Service was alright. Food highly over priced and not enough flavor. The ambience was just blah....
I 'm giving 3 stars because I noticed the older lady at the register was not as polite with me (a woman as she was with the men. This was my first time buying from this taco truck (my usual go-to is Pariente Mix outside of Dunkin Donuts on New York St. , and I wanted to try this place out since it 's closer to my job. I walked up very respectfully and in a good mood, but was met with attitude. I 've never met this woman before, so I thought maybe she 's just not having a good day, and it 's not actually personal. Ok, bad days happen to everyone once in a while, no biggy. But when I heard her talk in a much better tone and saw how much better she treated the man after me and even the guy after him too, I just thought, Wow, ok. Even after noticing that, I still said thank you when she handed me my order. She did not even look my way or respond at all. SMHThe food was good (hence the 3 stars ; I liked that the tacos had a good amount of meat, but with the service alone and this lady 's attitude towards me, I will not be coming back. I 'd rather drive a little farther and go to my usual place for tacos where I 'm always treated well. I hope this lady realizes that customers actually notice these things, and it affects our views towards these establishments and businesses. It 's sad because I heard good things about Primos, but none of their locations will be getting my business from now on if they allow their customers to be treated in such a way.
The food is ok. They did remodel and have updated the tables and chairs. Service is ok. I'm sure it's due to nobody wanting to work.
I initially found Primos tacos food trucks while driving in Aurora. I stopped by to taste some of their tacos. I ordered 3 mixed meat tacos (campechano). They were great! I was in Aurora getting a Christmas tree with my wife, when I said we need to go get some tacos. I made an internet search to find where the food truck was when I found their location on Highland. Unbeknownst to me it was their stand alone restaurant. We went in an ordered. I ordered the carne tampiqueña and it came with a cheese tamale. It was awesome. I live near Elgin and will drive to Aurora for my Mexican food fix. My only complaint were the beans. They were very flavorful but a little salty for my taste. Aurora is a cool down with some great architecture and primos is very very good place to eat. The interior of Primos was clean but a little stark. I'd recommend Primos if you want a good meal.
