Saigon - Fort Wayne

This restaurant is a family favorite. The delicious aroma of the food can be detected from a block away. As I was driving down Calhoun Street recently, thoughts of this restaurant filled my mind. I must return to dine here again soon.

This restaurant is authentic and delicious! My husband and I have been loyal customers for years, and I have to say it is the best Vietnamese food in town. The prices are amazing too. Don't let the location deter you, as not all businesses in the area were open when SW FW was being developed. I must also mention the fantastic waitresses who have been working there for years. Even though I don't know their names, they work quickly and efficiently, despite the constant crowd. They always remember our usual order and even take the extra step to prepare our tea just the way we like it. You must try this place, especially the 'noodle #5' and egg rolls.

The food was delicious! The Mongolian beef was incredible, with a savory sauce and tender chunks of sirloin. It was very authentic and affordable. I will definitely be returning many times.

Expect nothing. Several of the reviews on here note how terrible the service is here. I went by myself last night, sat at the bar for some pho tai and a vietnamese coffee (no room for the egg rolls, unfortunately) and had a wonderful experience. I went in with no expectation of good service due to the mixed reviews and was very pleasantly surprised. the whole floor was staffed by one woman (aside from a man that came out to cashier at some points) and they had 5-6 tables occupied so she couldn't hang around waiting on me, but she was very friendly. She showed me how to make the coffee, and smiled at my barely-passable pronunciation. In addition, the pho tai was incredible. I think I let the beef cook a little too long in the broth, as some of the last pieces I ate were a little tough, but other than that it was a perfect experience. I look forward to coming back and trying the egg rolls, which I've heard a lot about from friends, and exploring the rest of their menu.
