When I want mochi this is my go to place. It's conveniently located behind Mr ojisan (former sanoyas) in the shared parking lot with Minato's. It's a one way street though but sometimes I don't wanna go all the way around to south king lol. They have seasonal items and come out with cool flavors to try mochi and manju. They also have assorted lihing gummies and senbei. They recently came out with green apple dango so I wanted to try... Got the mixed pack it had strawberry, blueberry, banana and the green apple. It does taste artificial but I love their dango it's so soft and just sweet enough! Love to support loc businesses too.
Stop by Fujiya Hawaii (930 Hau'oli Street) for your Japanese Hawaiian style wagashi sweets mochi (Japanese rice cake made of mochigome), chichi dango (mochiko dessert confection) and arare (rice cracker flavored with soy sauce)! I picked up some ono lychee mochi, sweet potato, pumpkin, red bean, white bean mmm! They have matcha and peanut butter red bean too! Every flavor of dango you can imagine and lots of senbei (sweet rice cracker) and arare! Snack heaven!!
I have never been to Fujiya before, but have eaten their mochi in the past. I was headed to a family dinner and was in charge of dessert. I was craving mochi, so I figured I'd stop by the new Fujiya location. It is located in the same parking lot of Minato off of King Street. It is very new and nicely set up! I have to say that I sort of walked out of there with a little bit of everything. I bought some senbei for my grandpa. They have lots of flavors like sweet potato haupia. I got chi chi dango regular, haupia mixed with chi chi dango, sweet potato, peanut butter, white bean, red bean, and mini strawberries. The big hit was the peanut butter. It was different because they roll it in kinako instead of katukrio. The mochi was soooo soft! It was so good! I will definitely be back for more mochi!
The Fresh Strawberry with Azuki Mochi was SOOO GOOD! Very delicious and fresh! I think I have found another MUST visit the next time I'm in Oahu. My sister and her family really liked the mochi they had as well!
