Desoto State Park Lodge - Fort Payne

Delicious food, lovely serving staff and great prices. Our family of five had three meals here during our stay and were pleased with it all. Great feel to the historic CCC lodge.

Stayed in the Rustic CCC Cabin #9 . Great location. away from everyone. Easy access to trails. Even a coyote came up to see the fire. I would stay again. The cabin was nice. The beds and the water pressure were a bit soft but overall it was a great stay.

We enjoyed a one night, peaceful retreat at the lodge with convenience to beautiful hikes! Our room was very clean and bed comfortable.

Good food at a good price with excellent service and atmosphere

I hope some lodge rooms are better than most but the room we stayed in really needed some help….bed was extremely uncomfortable probably because it is not a quality mattress at all, pillows need replacing, wall paper is peeling along ceiling especially in bathroom, baseboards all need cleaning, window to back deck is clouded meaning broken seal, carpet needs replacing. Overall, I’d suggest a renovation is overdue replacement of furniture. Back in the day this lodge was probably a sought after place and location, please get it back to what it used to be! Breakfast Buffett was very good and price was spot on!
