Phat Boy Sushi And Kitchen Oakland Park

The restaurant pays great attention to detail, with every aspect of the decor aligning beautifully with its overall style. The service was good, but we weren't particularly fond of the three rolls we tried. Overall, I would rate the food 3 out of 5.

We try sushi everywhere we go, but this was our first stop on this trip, and we were quite disappointed. After spending $120, none of the dishes we ordered were particularly enjoyable. The miso soup was bland, and the fried rice was unexpectedly overpowering due to the excessive ginger mixed in—it completely ruined it for us. We also ordered a crab roll that had lemon rind, which was overwhelming; everyone had to pick out the lemon to make it more palatable. The $23 Samurai roll with steak on top wasn’t great either—it was just a poorly conceived combination of ingredients. We tried three other rolls, which were decent but not impressive; we certainly didn't leave feeling like we wanted more. As you can see in the picture, there was quite a bit left uneaten. Normally, we can finish 6-8 rolls easily, but this time we couldn't even finish five among four people. We probably won’t be coming back unless offered a free chance to redeem ourselves. On a positive note, the garlic edamame was really good!

The ambiance was lovely, the food was delicious, and the service was great. My only complaint was that there weren't many shrimp in my rice. Overall, I would rate the food a perfect 5/5.

Probably the best sushi I've ever had!! the salmon literally melts in your mouth, it's incredible. the staff is also very nice and attentive! it was quite busy and we still got our food and drinks in less than 15 minutes. the sushi chefs were also very friendly and helpful. highly highly recommend this place!Food: 5/5

Food was amazing. Service was awesome. My kids loved it.
