Trailside - Fort Erie

When you think of small town bar this is what comes to mind. Place is well maintained, food is decent. Downside is lack of vegetarian options and some of the waitress are brash and forgetful. Owners are great though.

We found this restaurant on Trip Advisor while staying in Crystal Beach. It was excellent. Great service and food. Their wings are delicious! Onion rings and fries are great too.

Went on a Friday evening and got suitable seats fairly easily. You can sit at tables, booths, at the bar or outside on a long deck with shade. Somewhat surprised that the draught craft beer selection was somewhat limited but settled for a Brimstone from just down the street. Waitresses were friendly and cheerful - really important for the time and place. My wife had a very good burger with excellent fries (crispy) and I had the garlic parm chicken sandwich (flatbread) which was excellent in taste (nice tangy sauce) and quantity. I had the Caesar salad (surcharge but that's ok) which was decent but not a specialty here. I liked the upbeat atmosphere with a good level of noise and large screen tvs with sports.

We went for dinner on the recommendation of somebody and I was not at all impressed Service was lacking and a simple request to omit specific ingredients from the item I was ordering was ignored. I'm not somebody who's hard to please and that is why they get a low rating...server didn't follow up... the only person who enjoyed her food was my daughter... she ordered the poutine...

As a previous resident of Ridgeway, I was sad to move away from my local eating whole. Matthew and his wife have done a wonderful job of building this business to the success that it is today. I remember when they first came to town, and boy have they changed things. I recently went back to see if the food was as good as ever, and of course I was not disappointed. You always feel welcome there comma and the Asian nachos are to die for. If you happen to be lucky enough to find the day that they're making tomato basil soup, definitely get it!
