You can see that A LOT went to the effort to make this place look rustic and good. All tables are handmade, the displays are all industrial wooden and metal carts for the products on the floor. The food: Both my wife and I were very impressed by the quality and taste of the food. It was really good. The coffee is also quite delicious, although I like a stronger coffee, so I asked for a shot of espresso in the line. Note: Most of their food is organic, and all their cutlery, plates and cups are compostable. You know that the owners take care of the environment and that is something I support. I know that the stuff is not cheap and I appreciate that it is the extra effort in.
I like this place. We just went through and decided to check this place as the pictures were quite tempting, and we were not disappointed. It is a shop, a bakery, a café and they serve breakfast and lunch. The owner told us that they only get their beer and wine license and that wine comes very soon. She also works to bring dinner hours and catering to the table. The shop is very nicely joined together like an old farmhouse and bakery, but with contemporary upgrades. It is decorated in an industrial farmhouse style and is fun and comfortable. You also have Wi-Fi. They use compostable flatware and plates that I consider to be ingenious, especially in a small town café. The staff is really friendly and helpful and they make AMAZING food. The price is medium price, about $10/per person without drinks. Now for the FOOD! There are many options here. You have to take organic, non-corn syrup choices and one or two gluten-free bakery treatments available. From cake to quiche to bread and biscottis, they have covered you. I was surprised by the great and some unique selection. The coffee is super delicious. How delicious. I had a pump Mocha 16oz, and it was heavenly. Not too sweet, but with an extra something to deal with it. We were here for breakfast (Thursday at 7:30am-10:30am). I have the whole 3. There are organic eggs (which I was clogged with Provolone cheese), choice of meat I chose “Bacon”, which they actually do smoked pig slices here, and grottos. The eggs were well seasoned and not cooked over or under and the smoked pig was delicious. But the grottos, so good!! I had several places that were born and raised in the south, but I only enjoyed them very mild, especially simple. But these geese are the hands down which I have ever tasted, even simply served. They were well seasoned and not too dry or runny. They also tasted perfect. I would definitely stop here and suggest this place to others.
Drive through Forsyth and decided to stop. I like the look and feel of this place. A kind of upscale sandwich shop with an old country twist. Everyone was also super friendly. Very nice place. I had the chicken salad sandwich with a side salad. The chicken salad was okay. There were some herbs in it I'm not very fond of, fennel maybe, but just guess. It came to a nicely roasted piece of what seemed to be baked in the house. I love the bread. The salad was also beautiful and fresh. Of course, the whole part of the raised feeling, you will not leave full. But will be satisfied. Hopefully I can enjoy it again other options.
Great hidden jewel! Had the French toast w/ scrambled eggs and smoked sauce. My wife had the cookies and Gravy with two Fried Eggs, Canadian Bacon and Grits. All were fantastic, the French toast extraordinary! Definitely worth the 40 minutes drive.
Cute establishment. I had the caprese sandwich, which was delectable; however $8 for a couple slices of tomatoes, a few pieces of spinach and a slice of mozzarella on slightly over toasted bread is slightly high priced. I’m am willing to give this eatery another try in the future, as their baked goods looked appealing and seemed reasonably priced.
