Hog's Breath Cafe Forster

Six of went to The Hog's Breath Cafe at Forster Sun 6th AugGreat staff to look after the six of us Drinks were reasonablypriced, Service was first class and 10 out of 10 for the Foodsome had pasta dishes I had a beautiful Porter house steak with sweet potato wedges with a beautiful pepper sauce. Others had the ribs and steak combo.A truly great night out with friends with a Great atmosphere.10 out 10 for service and food and the staff.A Fantastic night had by all of us from Victoria up here to play in the Forster Tennis Club Seniors Tournament from Fri 4th Aug to Mon 7th of August A great Town and a Fabulous Hog's Breath Cafe too.Gary Stanton. Always love outing here with my husband. I've had the beef ribs covered in the bbq sauce and thought it was delicious though HUGE! The sweet potato wedges are so yum - much better than the curly fries I thought. Have also had the steak covered in the bbq sauce - best ever! Pricer than the rest of the menu though. Been too full to EVER try dessert though and that says a lot because Im a dessert freak.

Been to many Hog's Breath Cafes before. They were very helpful getting our booking in early since we had children with us. Our meals were great, our steaks were cooked to our order. Service was good even when they were busy. Dessert wasn't very nice this time. We would go back, I wouldn't order dessert that's all.

We first went to Hogg's in November 2016 for our wedding anniversary and were sadly disappointed. At that time I had ordered the chicken with brie and bacon, my husband a steak. We waited an extra long time for the food and had to ask the waitress when we might expect it, we were told that it would be out next, so after another 10 minutes it arrived. My chicken was burnt to a crisp and very hard. I am not one to return food or to complain about the time taken but this was truly the exception. The manager did come over and apologised for the meal and said she was having trouble with the chef arriving late and putting everything behind. We accepted her apology but when you go to a restaurant it is not our responsibility to ask if the chef is there or not. So regardless of this we thought we would try again for Sunday lunch. There were only 3 wait staff and the restaurant was about half full, we were shown to a booth which she said would be quitter, our orders were taken and drinks arrived fairly quickly so we thought that the November problems were non existent, however other people that arrived after us were seated and meals served before ours arrived. I had finished my wine by the time the food arrived and asked if I could have another. I waited again for a very long time before I approached the Manager and asked where it was and she admitted to forgetting it.I must admit that I was not charged for the second glass of wine and on the November occasion she didn't charge us for the garlic bread as the meals were so late and over cooked but I can only say that I wont be going back again. I am a business owner and if I kept customers waiting and forgetting orders, I would have no customers. I think this restaurant should look at their customer service, and maybe then I will go back for a 3rd time.
