Taverna Del Lepre - FORMIA

We visited Tana Del Lepre recently and had a very positive experience. The location of this place is above Formia in the Aurunci. Driving up the mountain and through the middle of the woods adds to the adventure. The restaurant itself has lots of character and of particular note was the antipasto which included various types of salamis, bruschetta, and bean soup. The pasta plates were excellent and the portions large. Worth the drive up the mountain.

Authentic mountain restaurant with warm staff. Food was made of typical local products. Decent choice of wines proposed at very fair prices. Excellent experience.

This place is magical and worth the effort of getting there! but make sure that you book in advance. Along a dirt road, a small place hidden away in the lush mountains, run by Anita and her family, the food is spectacular, freshly prepared and served with the joy of those who like to feed the hungry. The menu is ‘none negotiable’ what is on today’s menu is what you get and it is wonderful in every bite. Highly recommended, we shall return.
