If I could give zero stars I would!!.First of all the guy at the register acted like he was under the influence of SOMETHING! he didn't no the cost of anything, he was ringing up items I hadn't ordered and then overcharged me for what I did order. I ordered the 5 bone rib sandwich and he charged me for a pulled pork and I received a 3bone rib sandwich. I paid with a 20 and he couldn't make change and didn't know how to run my card so I found the exact amount, but noticed it was wrong and he proceeded to give change from his pocket. When asked to speak to a manager she came out but let us know SHE JUST COOKS SHE DOESN'T DO REGISTER!.I got home and notice my order wasn't right and tried to call back and after 2 days an 20 attempts with no response I gave up. The food is terrible and so is the service. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY! Go to Johnny Boys or Ebony Inn!
Based on my recent visit, it appears that the place is severely struggling and looks like it is on the brink of shutting down.They hardly had anything available on the BBQ menu. I initially ordered a three meat plate with ribs, brisket and chicken sausage, and was told they only had pulled pork, ribs, and brisket. I changed my order to only ribs and brisket.After changing my order to accommodate the limited choices they said they did have available (which wasn't much) and after paying for it, the worker in the kitchen came out after I had been waiting for a while and said that they were also out of ribs and only had a little brisket left. They asked if I would accept wings instead to make up for it. After begrudgingly making a second change to my order, the worker came out yet again later and asked me what sides I wanted, so I repeated that again. There was hardly any BBQ sauce condiments available to take, and they only had bottled water and a few Coke cans in their refrigerator to choose from to drink.After getting home, I did not enjoy my meal at all. The brisket was overcooked and the wings appeared to be cooked too hot and too fast (the outside was fried hard but some on the inside were pink and didn't appear to be done) so I ended up throwing most of my meal away. I hate I wasted the time.In hindsight, as soon as I ordered initially, my gut was telling me to leave, but I ordered anyway. Had I not already paid and committed, I would've walked out. I should've followed my gut initially.At the end of the day, I'm disappointed because I've been here several times both before and during the pandemic, and I was generally satisfied. Now I don't believe I will ever return.
This was my first time eating here. I ordered the wings and the soul rolls. (They were out of ribs. I was warned that the wings were really small. I ordered them anyway. The wings tasted good (not great , especially with the sauces. The soul rolls were DISGUSTING. They were greasy with little if any meat in them. Just cheese grease and egg roll wraps. Totally inedible. The sauces ere really good though. I'll come back to try the ribs, but so far, NOT IMPRESSED.
Something bad has happened to this place recently. Me and my family used to love the food here. We ordered carryout on 4/26/22 and was greatly disappointed with the quality of everything! The Soul Rolls are supposed to be a hearty, crispy egg roll type dish. Our 5 orders were flimsy, soft and bad tasting. The dipping sauce lacked cheese that makes the sauce pop. The Pulled Pork sandwich was charred and tough. They were not stocked to serve basic side items such as baked beans. I was not advised of this until I checked my order and they were missing. I don 't know what happened, but they are not fit to open their doors these days.
