Costa - Forest of Dean

I have consistently found the staff at this restaurant to be rude and lazy, often seen standing around and smirking while one employee does most of the work. During previous visits, I have witnessed staff eating half-price cakes meant for customers and even snatching them away from patrons. The service has become increasingly worse, with long waits and forgotten orders. The prices are not cheap, with hot drinks costing over £4 and small pieces of cake for £3 or £4. The manager, who seemed arrogant months ago, may still have the same attitude. The long queues and lack of service make it not worth the money. The tables are often dirty and cluttered when I visit, regardless of how busy the restaurant is. Overall, my experiences have been awful and I do not plan to return.

Nicole was the perfect barista. She was charming and easy to chat with. She made me a great Americano and also explained how long the complimentary coffee was available. I was very happy with the service and will definitely be back soon.

On Sunday morning, October 30th, we visited the Costa branch on the first floor of the shopping mall. It was quite busy, so we had to clear an empty table before ordering two flat whites at £3.15 each. We waited a long time to place our order and then had to wait equally as long for our drinks to be prepared and served. At one point, four staff members were working while three others just stood around. When our coffees were finally served, they were too hot to drink. Once they had cooled down enough to drink, we found them to be weak. The service was slow and the atmosphere was a bit dirty, with unwiped tables and worn-out furniture. The highlight of our visit was the model aircraft hanging from the ceiling. Overall, it was not up to the standard we expected from Costa and may have been the worst Costa experience we have had.

Filthy ripped seats. Dirty cutlery. Staff unhygienic practices. Says it all really. Wish we hadn’t bothered, avoid, go somewhere that cares

Sadly half the seating area is shut off. The tables were dirty which is great during covid and the seats had large stains or were threadbare.
