Oxley Tavern - Forest Lake

I visited this restaurant on a Friday evening and had a very negative experience. The service was extremely slow and our food took an hour to arrive. My friends ordered burgers and steak, but their food still hadn't come after an hour. We kept asking the waitress and were told it would come soon, but eventually we had to go directly to the kitchen ourselves to inquire. It turns out that the chef had overlooked their order entirely. This will be our first and last visit to this restaurant. We were very disappointed with the lack of apology and no compensation offered. I would not recommend this place to others.

I felt like trying something new, so I decided to visit Oxley Tavern in Oxley. I tried the Buffalo Burger and I absolutely loved it. The chips were crispy and the service and staff were very welcoming. I highly recommend trying it out.

My group consisted of seven adults and five children. The playroom was popular with the kids, although I found it to be a bit warm. The children's activity packs on the table were convenient and kept the kids entertained. The service was quick and friendly, and the portions were generous and reasonably priced. It's a great place to have a satisfying meal while the kids have fun. The menu offers a good selection of kids meals as well as excellent options like steaks, pizzas, and schnitzels. Overall, no complaints - we will definitely return!

What happened to the American chef two years ago...great portions and beautiful plated food cooked to one's desire. Since he left we have had 4 encounters with the new chef where the portions of salad which were all leaf and little dressing and over cooked steak after asking for rare EVERY TIME...even after we personally spoke to him and asked what was going on...Oh that is the portions we give and Oh unfortunately we don't always get it right as repeated answers to our complaints. Never again wasting another cent with this place.

Great place for a burger and to watch a game. Always busy place better to get in early to avoid the crazy rush
