Disappointing food quality. We ordered the steak tartar. The portion size was huge, one of the largest I have seen and I order this a lot. The meat was tough and of poor quality. Recommend the restaurant use better quality beef and shrink the size to half. We also ordered the scallop dish and 2 other items. The scallop dish was the best out of the 4 things we tried. We Would not return here.
We had incredible service. We started with the pig ears and they were delicious so tasty and the crunch we expected. We had the breakfast platter and it was well executed. The Avocado Toast also delivered. The eggs were perfectly cooked and the avocado was delicious. I had the Cuban Benedict. The dish was well cooked however the eggs were too well done and did not give the burst you expect from the yolk. We also had the beef short ribs and they were also excellent.
Have eaten here many times, one of our favorite restaurants. Some of the items not as good as other times , like the beef short ribs. Very chewy and too much sauce. The scallops were amazing. Hit or miss kind of dinner.
Starting with the positives: Beautiful place and even on a 90 degree day, they manage to keep the patio comfortable. All of the apps were amazing! We got the pig ears, bacon wrapped dates and goat cheese croquettes. I'd reorder each one over and over!! Now for the not so positives: The mains were only so so. The lobster Benedict was bland and we had to ask for salt. The fat boy hash was overly sweet.... Yes I know bacon jam is sweet but the entire dish was so sweet I couldn't enjoy it. It needed some salt or acidity to balance it out. The elote was completely lacking flavor, it was just corn on the cob really. We couldn't taste any seasoning. The toad in a hole was a bit dry. The red and white sangrias honestly sucked. The red was a bit better than the white but still disappointing. Service was slowwwwww. Yes, we came on Mother's Day and I know it is busy but you should be prepared for that rush and maybe prioritize tables that made reservations if it's that hard to keep up. Everything we asked for took 10-15 minutes at least... including refills on bottomless drinks.
