I found this jewel a few years ago and wanted to keep it to myself! this is the best place to get Indian food in the local FM area...so far it is also my favorites in dallas. I have transformed two people into indian food lovers by ordering ista! for the first time? order them takeout! here are my recommendations: -best vegetarier appetizer: chat with (I remove the tamarind sauce and cilantro chutney is a must for me) -best meat app: chicken 65 -best entree: chicken tikka masala with rice but order butter naan on the side also! other must-have favorites: parathas and extrarinds I miss the prefabricated buffet where the cook made special dishes, but happy they are open! I guess the best secret is out now!
This was our second time dining in and we had another great experience! the owner made sure to check up on us and was very friendly! ista is a clean and inviting space; food is priced correctly and everything had great flavor! we were so full and had plenty left to box up for left overs.
Ista is among my favorite Indian cuisine places. The food is always amazing and the naan bread is delicious! Staff attentiveness can sometimes be hit or miss but I go there for the food not the staff. All in all, i love it.
Surprised at the reviews here. This is the worst tasting food. Chicken tikka piece is about 2 inches in size and rubbery. Had to chew chew and chew. Could Not even eat 1 piece completely. Chicken jalfrezy with spice level of 4/5 is sweet. As soon as you enter the restaurant you get a stale smell. Sorry but this is a Frank review.
I want to start off that i loved indian food at Ista. That was my goto place for indian food. Past few months, the food started tasting bad, chicken is dry in biryani or there is mostly just white rice in biryani, etc. Nowadays the food is consistently not good, so I no longer want to suggest people to go here like I used to in the past.
