No other like it, except perhaps in a special restaurant; it reminds me of the cuisine of the Middle East, but very pleasant to most American taste. Pricey? Yes, for a fast food place, but definitely worth the price if, if, if...!!!! This is, IF you visit at the right time of the day. That would be the lunch hours between 11:00 and 2:00. Before this time you will get back heating from yesterday's left overs. Today the fare is still cooking. After this time, depending on customer traffic and ordered items, you will always be heating yesterday or earlier this day. So, what's the big deal??? I'm glad you asked. It's called a microwave. This flavoring, dehydration method should be used NIE on meat. All the excellent aroma you just paid so much for goes AWOL; it's just leaving POOF! A new customer cannot notice, an experienced one knows immediately! Therefore, the place is packed during lunch and empty near the rest of the day. It's just a question of economy, people. You can't keep it hot all day to dry out and they can't really throw it away. So, you come to the wrong time, unconscious and good, it's luck of drawing. And all the fresh chickens you'll be eating at the grill later? Note, the grill flames are out. These chicks are not cooked and plated tomorrow. (I guess they will be put back in the refrigerator after closing. Frankly, I think this mini chain should be MUCH bigger, but they can't do it based only on 3 hours of great taste per day! Do not let my long diatribe stop you from trying this truly unique taste experience. Just go there at the right time. Be like Goldie Locks. Not too early and not too late. P.S. Yes, I have with them about the above problems, while they said they don't even have microwaves in memory. But I spoke to ex-workers. Pants on fire!!!
Great place before it was sold off. I have tried it many many times at different locations since, food is old and not to par, staff is rude and a far more worried about closing the store hours before they do close. Last time I was at one location the staff was telling the customer in front of me how terrible the Romain lettuce was. Went on for about 5 minutes about how crappy it was, not realizing the customer behind me had just ordered a Cesar salad. When he did figure out he now had to make a Cesar salad for someone. He was fully ready to serve the terrible lettuce to this customer. The customer interjected and had to ask him to use other lettuce.
Walked in at 12 noon, no chicken on grill, when asked they said they had just finished taking meat off and was about to do more. The chicken we were served from the warming drawer was dry and cold. No way it was freshly grilled. Last nights leftovers, never going back
I just purchased a 4 piece with a pita bread, and that overpriced chicken was horrible!! It tasted like it was warmed over from the day before! It had no taste whatsoever, and the only good thing I can say is that the pita bread and butter was good. Too expensive to be tasting like garbage!!
Have been eating at Ya Yas for years but my last 2 visits the chicken was extremely dry and not fresh paid for a 3 piece meal, got home and only had 2 pieces that barely had any meat on them. Definitely not worth the $10 I paid. Will not be back I see in other people's comments there are new owners which explains why the food is horrible. It is a shame because I always loved to eat there.
