The crowds were more than overwhelming and you quickly learn to enjoy the experience of sharing a table and meeting new people which I loved...my autistic son, not so much. The two girls, one was named Kay, at the front are terrific under pressure. Friendly and supportive, and handling the customers quicky to help the next person without being rude or seeming rushed. As a former server, I learned this technique and it's not always easy. These girls are pros at it. I was very impressed. The hot dogs at $10 were delicious enough to soften the sting of extortion, and the water bottle comes with a pop top so you can easily drink it on the go, and refill at the fountain with a bottle refill station attachment located near the bathrooms at the rental office downstairs. Agassiz made up for the frustration of the mad rush happening below us and I was able to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Will definitely return.
Had been to have a coffee after a chairlift to snow bowl. Best place to visit during mid of October to see fall colors and possibly snow on top of snow bowl. It is at higher altitudes so it gets colder so plan accordingly.
Agassiz Lodge is situated right by the Arizona lift in snowbowl which is the highest lift for the park. So if you want to get the most descent in on your trip this where you will be passing by regularly. There is an outdoor bar that you can, during covid, order directly from. There is also a good window but you have to order everything online ,again during covid. Sometimes you don't get service up here but there is free wifi so just connect to that and order your food. If you are really trying to eat something I would say go down to the lower lodge as the serving sizes are larger down there but for me I don't eat much when snowboarding so I just want a quick snack and this spot is perfect for that.
Came up from Phoenix for the day to escape the heat. Had a great day. Had a bungee bounce, obstacle course, panning for fossils/gems, inner tube slide, live music, and the scenic chair lift. Lots of parking available. Tons of places to sit. Handicap accessible. Restaurant and bar too. Things to do for all ages. Price varies on the amount of things you want to do. Enjoyed a nice rain and hail storm while on the mountain. Temps dropped down to 55° during our visit...while it was 110° back home in Phoenix. Great day trip. Awesome views. Chairlift took about an hour and it was nice and relaxing.
